Microsoft has finally done something right! Its called “visual search”, and its a lot like flipping through a magazine looking for an article when you don’t what page its on. In this case they’ve built a “Dog Breeds” visual search to help those who know what the dog looks like, but don’t know the name!
All you need to do is use the arrows on the right of the page to scroll through the 161 or so breads till you see the one you recognize! Great tool for searching for a dog breed when you don’t know the name!
Bing’s Dog Breed Image Search

Note: You’ll need to install Microsoft’s Silverlite for it to work, it’ll prompt you to do this, really not that bad of a deal!

Today I read a post from juliesimba.com that covers the topic of training your dog for obedience as it states “dog training for obedience is an essential ingredient in any healthy human-dog relationship.” I’d like to highlight some key points from this article and get your input! What tips would you add to this article?
Excerpts
Regardless of which training technique you choose to employ or which dog training schools you frequent, this is what proper dog obedience training should accomplish.
- Build or strengthen a close, healthy and appropriate relationship between you and your dog.
- Opens up a clear line of communication between you and your dog. This includes you knowing what to expect of your dog in all circumstances, and your dog clearly understanding and respecting what is expected of him/her.
- Dog Training for Obedience lays down a set of rules or boundaries which educates your dog to become a responsible member of society. Including how to relate to other dogs, animals and people, basic manners and how to behave in any situation.
- Establishes the groundwork which assists in preventing the development of unacceptable problem behavior – such as jumping up, barking, chewing, digging etc.
The Benefits Of Dog Training For Obedience
Basic obedience training makes life simple to your dog and eliminates confusion. Your dog will know his place in the world and understand right from wrong. Dogs seem to really appreciate and thrive on this black and white view of the world.
Fun and rewarding for both you and your dog – for me, this is what it’s all about!
You’ll have a happy, relaxed and confident dog who you can take anywhere and will be a pleasure to be around. Greater freedom can also be extended to your dog, as he’ll be more trustworthy when obedience trained.

It goes on to talk more about “The Danger In Not Giving Dog Training For Obedience” and “General Rules For Effective Dog Obedience Training”.
Now its your turn! Have any good tips for training with obedience in mind? Add them below!

Check out this article from Justforthedogs.com, it contains some great tips for feeding your puppy!
Some Excerpts:
#1 – Buy Commercial Brands
Manufacturers understand the special needs of puppies. These formulations take into account the high energy and protein requirements of puppies…
#2 – Be Consistent
In many ways, puppies are creatures of habit. Once they start eating a brand they enjoy, changing that brand – even for “variety” – isn’t normally welcome…
#3 – Set A Time And Stick To It
In the same way people normally establish certain times to eat meals, you should create a feeding schedule for your puppy…
#4 – Make Drinking Water Available
Puppies need water just like people and some breeds require more than others. Always make sure their is plenty of water available for your puppy…
In Summery:
It’s not difficult to design an easy feeding plan for your pup. Invest in a high-quality commercial brand, avoid switching it, pick feeding times and don’t deviate from them, and give your puppy all the water he wants. You can add all natural dog treats or dog chews as a special bonus for your dog as well. If you follow those guidelines, your pup should grow up to be a healthy, happy adult dog.
We found this article interesting and helpful, now its your turn… add your Puppy care tips! We’d love to hear them!
